Did Nosta Beauty just send us back to our youth?
One look at the beauty brand’s IG grid and we’re transported to a simpler, McBlingier time when juicy pink lips and Juicy tracksuits were all the rage.
Suddenly this iPhone feels disappointing. Like hello, this is what has replaced the iconic pink RAZR flip??
The good news is that with the launch of their new LipSlider, we get to play pretend.
“The transparent pink color of the component is actually the same Pantone as the hot pink RAZR flip phone,” Nosta Beauty founder Tiffany Tarazi tells The Beauty Brief.
Tarazi explains that Nosta’s products are strategically designed to evoke nostalgia in the best possible way, and with the LipSlider, bring us back to the moment when we got our first ever cell phones.
“We wanted to tap into what it felt like — there were red carpets for new phone launches back then for crying out loud,” she says.
But what comes inside of the eye-catching case? Is it a toy, or is it a beauty product?
Retailing at $19.00 and available via nostabeauty.com, this innovative and hydrating balm-to-oil lip balm features a pink tint and bubble gum flavor.
Key Ingredients:
Shea Butter
Avocado Oil
Aloe Vera

Balm-to-oil softens and nourishes dry lips
Hydrates and nourishes all-day-long
On-the-go convenience with lip balm, mirror, and spatula combo
Key Features:
Delicious, juicy bubblegum flavor
Lightweight formula and non-sticky finish
Neutral pink shade for versatile, everyday wear
“The second this formula touches your lips, it melts into the most hydrating, glossy (not goopy) oil,” the founder explains.
Tarazi is a professional makeup artist with more than 15 years of experience and while the LipSlider’s shell is certainly fun to look at and play with, she’s made sure the formula is of the highest quality to boot.
“Every little detail matters, from choosing the right shade of pink for the packaging to perfecting a wearable shade of milky pink for the lip balm. The LipSlider was in development for over two years with the aim of combining three essential elements into one product: lip balm, mirror, lip spatula,” Tarazi says, adding that “our packaging may be playful, but our formulas are very serious.”
Nosta also offers a custom designed zebra print wristlet to pair with the LipSlider that’s available as a bundle option on their site, but that’s currently sold out. Sorry, besties.
One of our favorite parts of the launch is the way Nosta Beauty has handled their social presence – for the LipSlider launch and beyond.
From a perfectly curated playlist, hilarious memes, and MySpace-worthy campaign imagery, to the video featuring Tarazi’s husband and co-founder reading off hate comments a la Celebrities Read Mean Tweets, the brand is full of personality, heart, and humor.
Tazari is frequently the face of Nosta and talks about her product development process, 00’s beauty trends, and relatable throwbacks. If you spend enough time scrolling, the risk of developing a parasocial relationship is real. And we’re not mad about it.
The Beauty Brief is definitely looking forward to seeing what’s next for Nosta Beauty.
