Charlotte Tilbury and F1 ACADEMY Team Up

Updated: Apr 26

The future of motorsports is female.

Buckle up, beauty queens. Charlotte Tilbury just took a detour into the fast lane of Formula One racing.

Yes, you read that correctly. The beauty giant behind cult favorites like Hollywood Flawless Filter and Hollywood Contour Wand is making headlines for something you definitely won’t find at Sephora.

Just in time for Women’s History Month, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty announced its official partnership with F1 ACADEMY, a female-only racing championship backed by Formula One. This move makes Charlotte Tilbury both the first female-founded brand and the first beauty brand to enter the F1 space.

What do the two have in common? Surprisingly, a lot.

Both brands are all about empowering women and bringing dreams to life. The F1 ACADEMY focuses on supporting female motorsport drivers and helping them reach higher levels of competition. Similarly, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty was born out of Charlotte’s long-held desire to empower everyone to feel and look like the most beautiful version of themselves. Together, the two are racing toward a beautiful tomorrow.

The partnership is authentic. It’s powerful. And we’re so here for it.

Now let’s talk marketing.

Despite traditionally being a boys’ club, motorsport has attracted a huge female following — and the F1 fangirls are here to stay. In 2022, they made up 40% of the fan base, contributing to a total 2022 season viewership of over 1.5 billion. That’s a massive audience — with equally massive buying power — just waiting to get a glimpse of Charlotte Tilbury’s magic. On the flip side, it’s a prime opportunity to use Charlotte Tilbury’s global platform to shine a spotlight on the incredible talent of F1 ACADEMY drivers.

The “Charlotte Tilbury operated by Rodin Motorsport” car is decked out in the brand’s signature night crimson and rose gold colorways, iconic Hot Lips icon, and the phrase “make up your destiny!”. Is it campy? Sure. Unapologetically feminine? Absolutely. French driver Lola Lovinfosse will be behind the wheel, wearing a racing suit and helmet with similar branding.

In a world where girlhood is often portrayed as weak, the partnership boldly stands as a middle finger to all the haters. Putting a makeup brand on the race track, an arena that’s deeply rooted in masculinity, challenges traditional gender roles and proudly asserts that women are just as capable, competitive, and driven as their male counterparts. Embracing femininity doesn’t make you any less fierce, and the ladies of F1 ACADEMY are ready to prove it.

This fusion of beauty and sports isn’t just about turning heads — it’s about smashing stereotypes, breaking barriers, and paving the way for a more inclusive future. And that, my friends, has us revving our engines.
