Did someone say hot girl summer? Don’t forget your SPF.

We’ve really turned a corner from the days of skipping sun protection, but it wasn’t too long ago that we were risking it all for a tan. For many fellow millennials, the mere mention of a tanning bed is enough to make you cringe. But these days, SPF is the MVP — a non-negotiable part of our daily skincare routines.

Still, as a product, sunscreen was never anything to get excited about. It was functional, sure, but not as sexy as lotions and body butters. At least, not until recently. Beauty brands have been reshaping the public’s perception of sunscreen, transforming an everyday essential into a coveted indulgence.

Kopari Beauty is one of those brands. And they just had a major launch.

Enter the SPF 2024 Collection — your ultimate summer companion, whether you’re lounging poolside, dancing at a music festival, or jet-setting to a tropical paradise. Complete with not one, not two, but three (!!!) brand-new products, the collection promises to keep your skin nourished, protected, and glowing no matter what’s on your itinerary.

The lineup features:

These are products you’ll want to buy not only to protect your skin but to transform into a sparkling, sun-kissed goddess. With each use, Kopari turns something as routine as sunscreen application into something to look forward to.

Just think of the common gripes associated with typical sunscreens. White cast? Not here. This collection leaves you with a radiant, shimmery glow. Hard to apply? Nope. Each product uses a different delivery system for effortless application. Weird smell? Hell nah. They’re infused with Kopari’s signature sweet coconut milk scent. Sticky residue? Never again. The formulations promise a non-sticky, non-oily finish.

Debuting in February, Kopari’s SPF Collection arrived right on cue for spring break getaways in March and the kick-off of festival season in April. And the marketing team pulled out all the stops, hosting immersive brand experiences from Anguilla to Palm Springs. With each activation, Kopari set out to create an “elevated experience” — not unlike the one it claims to provide with these products.

See Ya in Anguilla

Since Tarte Cosmetics set the trend in 2015, beauty brands have invited influencers to stamp their passports at some of the world’s most exotic destinations. For this launch, the Kopari team chose Anguilla, an island in the Caribbean, as the setting for their inaugural brand trip.

While the Internet is divided over whether brand trips are smart business or just fool’s play, you have to admit that an all-expenses-paid getaway would be pretty hard to pass up (even if they are technically business trips for content creators). When done right, these trips can be a powerful tool for beauty brands to build relationships with influencers, promote their products, and create authentic content.

As influencers shared their envy-inducing moments, detailing private yoga lessons, island tours, and beachside dinners, the Kopari SPF Collection became synonymous with sun-kissed luxury. It’s giving “model off duty.”

Poolside Paradise Party

Kopari partnered with FashionPass, a clothing rental service, to curate a resort wear collection. In Los Angeles, influencers were invited to preview the summer-ready pieces at a chic poolside party. Featuring cropped hemlines, exposed shoulders, and trendy cutouts, the outfits all show a little skin — skin that should be protected from the sun.

The event was adorned with products from Kopari’s SPF Collection. The tagline, “Rent the clothes. Wear the sunscreen,” was a playful yet practical reminder that SPF pairs with more than just bikinis.

Coachella’s Hottest Headliner

Kopari dialed up the volume for Coachella, turning the Palm Springs scene into a tropical paradise. The team rented a villa to host influencers attending the iconic music festival and transformed it into the Kopari Paradise Villa. Every detail, from the pillows to the pool floaties, was designed to reflect the brand’s aesthetic, using each nook and cranny as a branding opportunity.

Guests were treated to an exclusive experience complete with a Blackbough Swim bikini bar, “sunglaze” gelato, and custom cocktails. Of course, no sun-soaked affair would be complete without ample protection, and Kopari ensured guests had access to their full range of SPF products.

Love it or hate it, influencers are still a major force in the market. So, it’s no surprise that Kopari’s go-to-market strategy was heavily centered around them. And by doing so, Kopari has successfully positioned its SPF Collection as a must-have for sun-seekers everywhere.
