Sensorial Sweethearts: Too Faced’s Latest Lip Launch

Throw Out the V-Day Candy and Get Glossed

Whether or not you have plans to get kissed this Valentine’s Day, Kissing Jelly Glosses from Too Faced are certain to adequately prep your pout.

With campaign visuals that deliver some serious eye candy, we were instantly intrigued by these colorful lip gloss/oil hybrids.

And in case you missed it, the influencer-heavy launch event was designed to match.

Working in beauty and being a consumer of beauty is meant to be fun. So it’s refreshing to see the brand continue its notoriously playful energy in 2024.

But despite these modern times, we felt a distant memory awaken within while examining the components and packaging here.

Which brings us to our next question:

Is the hottest trend in the beauty industry actually a thing of the past?

Because the most captivating launches that continue to catch our eyes here at The Beauty Brief have one thing in common: nostalgia.

Danielle James, Beauty Director at ELLE.com shares our feelings here: “when you look at their new lip gloss launch, [it’s] reminiscent of bright, drugstore lipsticks from the 90s.”

Currently rated at nearly 5-stars across all major online retailers, Too Faced presents us with not one, but six new glosses to choose from (or collect):

  • Bubblegum

  • Sweet Cotton Candy

  • Grape Soda

  • Pina Colada

  • Sour Watermelon

  • Raspberry

Kissing Jelly Glosses come with a wallet-friendly price tag at $22 a pop, provide the wearer with a slight tint, and most importantly, major flavor.

The collectability factor seems to be capturing the desires of TikTok girlies and Insta Beauty Gurus alike.

Another element of this rollout worth noting is the brand’s dedication to swatching their products on a variety of skin tones, and showing it applied on a diverse range of models.

While it’s annoying that this is still something we feel the need to even note in the first place, it continues to be disappointing to encounter many brands that simply… do not.

So yay for Too Faced.

And for all brands, please continue to remember what humans actually look like.

Back to the glosses themselves, one reviewer proclaims:

“I felt this actually moisturized my lips. My lips were left soft after application. Once the product wore off, my lips felt more nourished which isn't what I normally experience with glosses.”

We think it’s a win for Too Faced.

Perhaps it won’t steal the place of our coveted Dior Lip Glow Oil, but it’s a less expensive option that’s for sure to lead to temptation.

Key Ingredients Include:

  • Jojoba Seed Oil

  • Sunflower Seed Oil

These are also vegan and cruelty-free : )

Will you be collecting them all?
